Por ordem superior se torna público ter a Irlanda efectuado, junto do Secretário -Geral da Organizaçáo das Naçóes Unidas, em 11 de Abril de 2002, uma declaraçáo ao abrigo dos artigos 21. e 22. da Convençáo contra a Tortura e

524 Outras Penas ou Tratamentos Cruéis, Desumanos ou Degradantes, adoptada pela Assembleia Geral das Naçóes

Unidas em 17 de Dezembro de 1984.

Ireland declares, in accordance with article 21 of the Convention, that it recognizes the competence of the Committee against Torture to receive and consider communications to the effect that a State Party claims that another State Party is not fulfilling its obligations under this Convention.

Ireland declares, in accordance with article 22 of the Convention, that it recognizes the competence of the Committee against Torture to receive and consider communications from or on behalf of individuals subject to its jurisdiction who claim to be victims of a violation by a State Party of the provisions of the Convention.

Traduçáo

Em conformidade com o artigo 21. da Convençáo, a Irlanda declara reconhecer a competência do Comité contra a Tortura para receber e examinar as comunicaçóes através das quais um Estado Parte alega que um outro Estado Parte náo está a cumprir as suas obrigaçóes decorrentes da Convençáo.
